Coronado Park in Urbandale, Iowa
Coronado Park is the perfect neighborhood pirate themed playground for bigger kids! This brand new playground offers so many unique ways to climb. Your elementary kids will absolutely love the belt ninja warrior wall! Kids can run up the steep belt and try to pull themselves up through three different hand holds. (Be aware there are no standard steps to climb up to the main structure and the ninja warrior area is a large drop for small children.)
My kids loved timing each other as they climbed up and down the different ladders, belts and ropes. This playground invited them to use their imagination pretending to sail across the ocean. (One kid could have spent the whole time playing with the marble sensory wheel; they loved the sensory experience!)
Urbandale Parks and Rec always does a great job with their swing sets and this park is no exception. This park has two standard swings, two infant swings, a toddler/adult swing and a tire swing! For this toddler/adult swing, toddler sits on adults lap facing them and there is a back that slides down to give child support.
