We recently visited and discovered there’s plenty of fun for all ages, from splashing in the lake to walking on ancient glacial formations. Here are five things we loved doing with kids on Kelleys Island.

1. Swim and Play at the Public Beach

When the sun’s out, head straight to Kelleys Island State Park Beach for some lakeside fun! The shallow, clear water is perfect for younger kids, and the soft sandy beach is great for castle-building, shell collecting, and lounging with snacks.

2. Explore the Glacial Grooves

You can’t leave Kelleys Island without checking out one of the coolest geological wonders in the Midwest, the Glacial Grooves Geological Preserve. These massive grooves were carved into limestone bedrock over 20,000 years ago by glaciers. Renting a golf cart is practically a rite of passage on Kelleys Island, and the best place to do it is Caddy Shack Square Bike and Cart Rentals!
