1. Swim and Play at the Public Beach

2. Explore the Glacial Grooves

You can’t leave Kelleys Island without checking out one of the coolest geological wonders in the Midwest, the Glacial Grooves Geological Preserve. These massive grooves were carved into limestone bedrock over 20,000 years ago by glaciers. It’s an easy, short walk on a boardwalk with informational signs, and it’s a great way to sneak in some learning while the kids marvel at nature’s power.

3. Eat and Play at Kelleys Island Wine Co.

Yes, you read that right, a winery that welcomes kids! The Kelleys Island Wine Co. is a family-friendly spot where parents can enjoy a glass of local wine or sangria while the kids run around the open green space, play yard games, or pet the friendly goats. They also serve up delicious eats, including pizzas, sandwiches, and snacks that even picky eaters will love. It’s the perfect relaxed spot to unwind after a day of exploring.

4. Cruise in a Golf Cart and Play Mini Golf at Caddy Shack Square

Renting a golf cart is practically a rite of passage on Kelleys Island, and the best place to do it is Caddy Shack Square Bike and Cart Rentals! Located right in the heart of the island, they make it super easy to grab a cart and explore at your own pace. The kids will love riding around in the open air, and it’s a fun, easy way to see all the sights without tired feet.

While you’re there, don’t miss their miniature golf course! It’s a colorful, classic mini golf experience that’s fun for all ages. A round of mini golf followed by a scenic cart ride? Yes, please!

5. Visit the Downtown Shops and Grab Ice Cream

Before you head home, stroll through the small but adorable downtown Kelleys Island area. You’ll find cute gift shops, a general store, and a few ice cream spots—because no day trip is complete without a sweet treat. Let the kids pick out a souvenir or two while you soak up the island vibes.
