Jordan Park and Sprayground in Des Moines, Iowa
Jordan Park, a beloved southside neighborhood park, has gotten a refresh! The brand new playground and splash pad are a perfect addition to the park. The playground features one structure where half is focused on the 2-5 year old crowd and the other half 5-12 year old kids. This compact playground has many unique climbing footholds, steps and ledges to challenge kids mentally and physically. My kids challenged each other to never take the same route to the slide. It was fun seeing their creativity!
The little details of this playground are great. Multiple different types of sensory elements found throughout the playground. One of my kids loved the screw and turning the washer up and down over and over. The two spinners were also a hit!
Sprayground
Jordan Sprayground is a smaller sprayground area close to the playground that is jam packed with sprayers. My kids especially loved the two water cannons they could aim at one another!
Jordan Park Sprayground is open from May 1st to Sept 30th from 9am to 8pm like the rest of Des Moines Parks and Rec Spraygrounds. The sprayground is turned on by pressing a trigger button.
