Walnut Creek Regional Park in Urbandale has a brand new playground and it is so fun! This expansive playground has something for every age. The towering main structure has a variety of steps, belts and ladders to reach the top and has countless nooks and crannies to explore. Slide enthusiasts will also love this park with four different tall slides and several others designed for 2-5 years old. Parents will enjoy the thoughtful design of the tower that allows for clear sightlines, ensuring you can easily watch your child while they play.
My kids would say the best part of this playground are the different auxiliary features. On the rubber surfacing side, they loved riding in the merry-go-round and trying to figure out how to balance together on the modern seesaw. On the wood chip side of the playground, my kids loved this zip line! They loved figuring out how to sit on the zip line and continuously pushing themselves back and forth. This park also has a spinning zip line carousel (like Ashby park)! My spinners and kids who love exhilaration were huge fans of this!
